The Situation of Uyghurs Outside East Turkestan: A Struggle to Preserve a Nation’s Identity
Uyghurs living outside East Turkestan face immense challenges in all aspects of life due to their separation from their homeland. Approximately 50,000 Uyghurs reside in Turkey, yet they must fight hard to preserve their language and culture. At a time when language, culture, and religious values are under systematic attack in East Turkestan, this community is striving to safeguard its identity.
A Nation Standing Strong Through Education
The Hira Technology and Development Foundation is dedicated to supporting Uyghurs abroad through education. Our foundation focuses on technology, education, and culture to empower the Uyghur community and ensure their survival through knowledge and self-development.
Today, our diverse educational programs are running successfully. Among these, the most crucial program is for children aged 6-12, offering Uyghur language, reading and writing in Uyghur, Uyghur culture, and history lessons during their after-school hours.
Our Goals:
- To enhance Uyghur children’s academic success,
- To ensure they do not forget their native language,
- To strengthen their connection to their heritage and keep their love for their homeland alive.

Since 2015, we have been proud to witness the outcomes of our efforts. Many of our students have improved their academic performance and gained a deeper love for their homeland, learning about its history and present with awareness and pride.
