  1. PROJE TEKLİFİ

2.1 The project “Coming to life again”

Rescue and restore a manuscript in danger of being lost

2.2 Introduction of the Project

This project aims to restore and publish the manuscripts of a distinguished religious scholar from East Turkestan. These manuscripts hold immense value for both their Arabic scholarly content and their Uyghur interpretations. The goal is to revive these works in a digital format and ensure their preservation, making them accessible to a broader audience.

The project involves digitizing the manuscripts, meticulously restoring the texts, and subsequently publishing them in PDF format. A primary objective throughout this process is to preserve the linguistic and cultural context of the original texts. Participation in this project offers a significant opportunity to safeguard this precious heritage and pass it on to future generations. It also ensures that these works are understood and appreciated by a wider audience.

These manuscripts were written by a great scholar who experienced the oppressive silence of East Turkestan’s nights. With dedication and risk, this scholar committed his knowledge to paper. Unfortunately, this wisdom did not have the opportunity to reach students in the land where it was created. The scholar hoped his works would transcend the forbidden borders.

Several years ago, these invaluable manuscripts were photographed and converted into PDF format. However, despite the passage of time, these works have yet to be presented to the public. The scholar once said, “Perhaps I will not see these works published, but even if I am gone, ensure that this knowledge is disseminated and future generations are educated.”

This project represents far more than simply digitizing pages. It is an endeavor to revive a precious legacy and carry its light into the future.

2.3 Project Objectives

2.3.1. Preservation of Valuable Heritage: This project aims to safeguard precious manuscripts that are at risk of being lost, ensuring that this valuable heritage is preserved and transmitted to future generations.

2.3.2. Fulfillment of the Scholar’s Vision: The project will realize the scholar’s lifelong aspirations by bringing his significant knowledge to fruition and making it accessible to a broader audience.

2.3.3. Educational Resource: The restored manuscripts will serve as valuable educational material for students studying religious subjects abroad, thereby enriching their learning experience.

2.3.4. Enhanced Understanding of Religious Texts: By providing access to these texts, the project will facilitate a deeper understanding of verses and hadiths, making the meanings of religious texts more accessible and comprehensible.

2.3.5. Advancement of Translation Techniques: The project will support the development of more accurate translation techniques between Arabic and Uyghur, leading to clearer and more precise translations of sentences and terms in both languages.

2.4 Reasons for the project

2.4.1. Meeting the Needs of East Turkestan Students Abroad: East Turkestan students living abroad face a pressing need for comprehensive texts covering detailed religious content. This project aims to address this need by providing a vital resource that will support their educational pursuits.

2.4.2. Addressing the Shortage of Detailed Resources: Due to the limited availability of adequate resources, students often need to consult multiple books to obtain the information they require. This project will bridge this gap by delivering a thorough and detailed resource, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of their studies.

2.4.3. Consolidating Religious Terminology: The book will bring together essential religious terms, enabling students to gain a deep understanding of these concepts. This consolidation will facilitate easier comprehension and application of terms that are fundamental to religious education.

Publishing these works internationally and educating students who will appreciate and be inspired by them is not merely a project of historical preservation; it is also a profound transfer of wisdom and knowledge.

We recognize that every contribution to this project supports not only a collection of works but also the scholar’s lifelong passion, hope, and intellectual legacy.
